Dice & Rolls

Players do their own rolls. Game Master does the math: it shows the roll needed, adds every modifier and works out the result.

  • For everyone

How to use it

  • When a roll is needed, the status shows the exact dice, such as "Roll d20 + 4", and a ROLL button.
  • Tap ROLL. The dice animate, then the result appears with its roll, modifier, total and target (AC or DC).

Step by step

  1. The app asks for a roll and shows the dice.
  2. The player taps ROLL.
  3. The dice show their result.
  4. The app adds the modifiers and compares the total with the target.
  5. The outcome is applied at once.

Dice Rolls

  • The status shows WAITING FOR ROLL with the exact dice.
  • Tap ROLL. The app rolls and adds your bonus.
  • A natural 20 or natural 1 is marked on the result when the ruleset gives it a special meaning.

Physical Dice

  • In Tabletop Mode every roll offers Roll in App or Enter Physical Roll. Type what the die shows; the app adds the modifiers and works out the outcome.
  • In Digital play rolls are made in the app with the ROLL button; there is no field for typing a physical roll.

Requesting Rolls For the GM

  • REQUEST ROLL (or Request roll in a character's menu) asks for a check or saving throw, with an optional DC.
  • The ruleset works out the bonus. The player sees the roll to make and taps ROLL.

GM Overrides For the GM

  • After a result you see a card with rulings that fit it: Accept, Make It a Miss or Make It a Hit, Change Damage, Make It a Success or Failure, Reveal Anyway, Undo Push.
  • Accept (or ignoring the card) lets the result stand. Accept All clears the list.
  • Every override is recorded with the original value.

Where the Numbers Come From Rules Detail

  • Bonuses, target numbers, advantage, critical hits and damage rules all come from the campaign's ruleset.
  • The Glossary shows how the active ruleset uses each term.

Important rules

  • Players roll for their own characters. Monsters and other GM creatures may roll automatically.
  • Nobody types in a routine result: the app calculates it.

Common questions

Can the GM change a roll?

Yes, afterwards, from the result card. The change is logged.

What do AC and DC mean on a result?

They are the target number: the total must reach it to succeed.
