LAN Multiplayer
Play on several devices on the same Wi-Fi or wired network. The GM's device hosts; players join from theirs. For players elsewhere, see Internet Multiplayer.
- For everyone
How to use it
- When the GM opens a session it is shared on the local network automatically. The LAN button in the top bar shows how many are connected.
- The session menu's Host LAN Session shows the IP address and port, lets you set a port and password, and lists players.
Step by step
- GM: open the session. It is now hosted.
- Player: on the home screen tap Join Game, then the LAN tab (Join LAN Session).
- Pick the session from the list and tap Join.
- Not listed? Under Join by IP type the Host IP and Port the GM sees, then Join.
- Enter the password if asked, then choose your character.
- You join the session as it is right now.
Connection Problems
- A short Wi-Fi drop doesn't end anything: the app reconnects and catches up, then says Reconnected.
- While the host can't be reached you see "Host not reachable" with Retry and Leave. Your character and progress are safe on the host.
- The GM's player list shows each player's connection. Release frees a character for someone else.
Important rules
- On the LAN everyone must be on the same local network; players elsewhere join over the internet instead.
- The GM's device is in charge: it rolls the dice, checks every move and saves the game.
- Leave Session keeps your character in the game.
Common questions
The session doesn't appear in the list.
Use Join by IP with the address and port from the GM's Host LAN Session panel. Some networks block discovery.
Is there online play?
Yes. The GM opens an internet lobby and reads the players a Join Code; see Internet Multiplayer. LAN and internet players can share one session.
